Art deco has to be one of my favorite design styles, mostly because of the geometric and simple forms and the sort of motion that is created. This style had a huge influence in architecture being visible in some of the most iconic buildings in major cities like New York. As I am working on some new ideas for Abduzeedo artwork I decided to share some images that inspired me.
Art Deco is an influential visual arts design style that first appeared in France after World War I, flourishing internationally in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s before its popularity waned after World War II. It is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with Machine Age imagery and materials. The style is often characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes, and lavish ornamentation.
