I find it really sad when I get to know about a great artist only when he or she dies. Unfortunately that happened again in March 3rd when Star Wars concept artist, Ralph McQuarrie, passed away.
Born in America in 1929, Ralph was the hand behind the concept art that helped bring life to some of the most famous characters of all times, like Darth Vader and Yoda. Of course that seeing these you’ll get to see that the final product, the one we watched on screen, was slightly different from Ralph’s concepts, which are great nonetheless. This is a quite long post, by since we’re talking about a trilogy, you should understand my motives. He’s done many great pieces, and these are only a “few” of them. Don’t forget to check Ralph’s official site. I hope you enjoy these. Cheers! 😉
