To explore what lies beneath the construction of some of this season’s hottest sneakers, Lyst has collaborated with British artist and photographer Hugh Turvey to X-ray some of this season’s most hyped sneaker styles. Toeing the line between photography and radiology, Turvey’s work uses x-ray technology to create what he calls xograms, a fusion of visible light and x-ray imagery.

From the $100 Nike Vapormax to the $1000 Louis Vuitton Archlight, the resulting series of images reveals what lies beneath the complex construction and fabrication of these much lusted-after shoes.

Lyst’s accompanying report explains the process behind the X-ray sneakers shoot. The report also lists out the design and construction details behind each shoe, as well as each sneaker’s social media metrics and the inspiration and the celebrities and influencers that have worn that style.

From the $100 Nike Vapormax to the $1000 Louis Vuitton Archlight, what lies beneath the complex construction and fabrication of these much lusted-after shoes?
