Created as part of the campaign for the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate video game, which is set in Victorian England, this poster illustrates how even though it was a time of considerable progress in the fields of science and technology, such advances largely served the interests of the rich and the imperialist ambitions of the British Empire, rather than the working class. That’s why we chose to feature the Maxim gun, which has been called “the weapon most associated with British imperial conquest.”
